Cruising Downtown

   
     Back in college if you told me when I was 37 I would be driving an 11 year old Honda Civic and cruising downtown singing songs with my two daughters I would have said you were crazy.  I probably would have predicted that I would be traveling the world climbing mountains.

     On Sunday night I took my daughters to a benefit concert for a fellow firefighter.  When we finally left we decided to leave the girls wanted to drive around with the windows down and the sunroof open. We drove down Red River and 6th Street as the girls screamed and yelled to the music.

     I could have never predicted my life, but I know that my wife and daughters have fulfilled me more than any mountain climb, any fancy car, or traveling the world.  This family is everything to me and I can't explain what they do for me.

You are the most fearless swimmer around.  Most kids want their parents to scoot closer when learning to swim but you want us to back up.  The only problem is you usually don't get very far.  Keep being fearless and experience life!

I Hope We Can Always Talk

Leaving Vacation Bible School we had two cars and you decided to ride with me and Kallie with Mom.  On the way I asked you about your day and you said, "I don't want to talk."  I asked again and you still did not want to talk.  I tried to rephrase the question by asking you you favorite part of the day etc. and you started to give some answers.

I hope that we can always talk about things.  I will try to be patient when you are not in the mood to talk and try not to pry and push.  Understand that I just want to know you girls and I truly care about everything you do.

Swimming Lessons Summer 2013

Today was day 3 of intense 1 on 1 swimming lessons.  Both of you girls really struggled through the first two days and you both even cried in the night about lessons.  We started feeling like we were terrorizing you and almost pulled you out.  However, you both showed up on day 3 and did great.  The tears went away you swam like fish.

It always difficult to push you girls through tough lessons.  We want you to know how to swim, as your mom and I are pretty weak swimmers.  We want you to build the confidence for later in life.  Most importantly we want to teach you to push through tough situations and to not quit.
