This Blog is is written for my girls to read later in life when they can understand it. I want to them to know about their childhood and how it shaped who they have become. I never want my daughters to doubt our love for them.

Kallie's Questions About God
Kallie, tonight you said to me, "This is going to be a hard question that I just don't understand. How can there just be a God. I mean how can he make himself if there wasn't even a world yet. I don't understand."
Maryn's Text to Daddy
Today I got this text from Mommy...
"Maryn said can you send Daddy a text and tell him to fix this frozen honey because he can fix anything and you can't."
and
"Maryn cannot figure out how the pantry froze the honey and wants you to explain it to her."

Gravel Angel
Today we were riding bikes on the Brushy Creek trail. Kallie, you made it to the top of the big hill and I was really proud of you! I could tell it was hard but you didn't quit.
Maryn, as we were going down a hill on the trail you wrecked out and busted really hard. I walked over and you face was in the gravel but you didn't even cry. You jumped up, looked around and immediately laid on the ground waved your arms and legs to create an angel in the gravel. After that you jumped up laughing and rode away.
You are both amazing!

Cruising Downtown
Back in college if you told me when I was 37 I would be driving an 11 year old Honda Civic and cruising downtown singing songs with my two daughters I would have said you were crazy. I probably would have predicted that I would be traveling the world climbing mountains.
On Sunday night I took my daughters to a benefit concert for a fellow firefighter. When we finally left we decided to leave the girls wanted to drive around with the windows down and the sunroof open. We drove down Red River and 6th Street as the girls screamed and yelled to the music.
I could have never predicted my life, but I know that my wife and daughters have fulfilled me more than any mountain climb, any fancy car, or traveling the world. This family is everything to me and I can't explain what they do for me.

Fearless Swimmer Maryn
Maryn,
You are the most fearless swimmer around. Most kids want their parents to scoot closer when learning to swim but you want us to back up. The only problem is you usually don't get very far. Keep being fearless and experience life!
