This Blog is is written for my girls to read later in life when they can understand it. I want to them to know about their childhood and how it shaped who they have become. I never want my daughters to doubt our love for them.

Daddy Daughter Date Night
Since we missed the Daddy Daughter Dance due to work, we went out for dinner and dessert tonight. Since I'm teaching a class all week I'll be driving this battalion chief's "car" for a bit. You girls enjoyed the lights and sirens at our house.

While I'm Here
Today I bumped into a band I had never of before. It was Strumbellas playing Spirit.
One line was really powerful to me...
"I don't want a never-ending life
I just want to be alive
While I'm here"
Kallie, sometimes you forget to have fun because you are so worried about things. I can't say they are small things because in your head they are huge. I hope I can help you to learn to enjoy life and let loose sometime. We are both reserved and would rather sit on the sidelines than gain attention, but that can also cause you to miss a little happiness in life.

Walnut Creek Ride
Today I took y'all to Walnut Creek Park for your first real single track bike ride. You both did excellent and I was very proud.
Kallie, you are were very cautious and didn't want to get lost. I hope I can teach you to let loose a little bit and get lost a bit sometimes. You never know whatnot will find!

DJ to the fire station
Maryn,
Today we met DJ, his family, your teacher, and his aid for a tour of the fire station. DJ spends a lot of time at Dell Children's hospital behind the station so we wanted to bring him by to get to know everyone. Hopefully he will stop by on a regular basis and we can drive him to his treatment in the fire truck soon.
Cooking
Your Mom came up with an idea that each of you cook a meal every week. Tonight was Kallie's night and she chose pasta, broccoli/cauliflower (not in a microwave bag) and kale chips. The rule is that the other girl is not allowed in the kitchen. This gives us a chance to spend time with each of you.
Mom was out for both meals this week. Tonight turned into a dance party.
