Music

In college I met a guy named Timmy Comeaux who would become a roommate for a few years and a life long friend. He introduced me to playing the guitar and late night sing a longs. After a night out we would come home and play music. We were never any good but we had a great time playing guitars and harmonicas while making up new songs and singing some classics. Before this time I enjoyed music but never really felt it like I did in college.

Several years later we went to Timmy's wedding south of Boston, MA. Kallie, we took you with us because we just couldn't be away from you that long.

Timmy has a huge family that is very close. At the wedding when the band took a break, Timmy's family took the stage. As his sisters, cousins and nieces played music the rest of the family took to the dance floor. In this moment I witnessed what family means. They all danced together not caring about anything but each other. They laughed and hugged and shared each others love. They didn't care who was watching or what anyone thought, they were in their own world with anyone who wanted to join. I saw family, I saw love.

His family was raised around music and I think this is a huge part of what makes them so close. This is what I want for our family. I can't force us to identify and bond through music but I can sure build the foundation and see where it goes.
